We know your time is precious and that’s why we have developed our Favourites, Substitutes and Pre-made Lists. These make both ordering and receiving your shopping quick and hassle-free every time.
Favourites
We all have our favourites – it might be those everyday essentials that you can’t live without, or that weekly treat for you and your family.
Each time you shop online with ASDA.com, the items you’ve bought will be automatically added to your ‘Favourites’. Making it easier for you to find and buy them the next time you shop.
Shopping Lists
To help make your online shopping experience even easier, we’ve created a number of handy Pre-made Lists. There’s everything here that you need, from those ‘weekly essentials’ to ‘Birthday Party Must-haves’ and even a ‘Christmas Dinner’ list. To make things even easier, you can create your own lists too that you can use time and time again. It’s like creating a personal ASDA shelf just for you, full of all your favourite products.
When you’ve created your shopping list, you’re able to add all the products you normally buy to your trolley with just one click, every time you shop.
Substitutes
Occasionally we may run out of exactly what you ordered and rather than turn up empty handed we offer a substitute service. So, if you add a product to your trolley and we find it’s out of stock, we’ll always try to find you something similar. Let’s say you ask for a small packet of ASDA Digestive biscuits. In the unlikely event that we’ve run out, we might give you a larger packet instead. And don’t worry, because you’ll only ever pay for the lowest priced product - that just seems like good manners to us.
You can tell us whether you’re happy to accept substitutes when you set up ‘Your Account’. You can also choose to accept or not accept substitutes by item when you check out.
No obligation to buy
ASDA shopping is all about choice and substitutes are no different. When you go to checkout you’ll be given the option to accept substitutes or not. If you choose not to select them, then that’s not a problem. If you don’t want the item we bring then you simply won’t be charged for it. You can even chose whether to accept substitutes on individual items on the checkout page.
All substitutions are delivered in clearly labelled bags and if these are not acceptable, simply give them back to the driver who will arrange a refund. It’s that simple.
Substitute up
When we are deciding on suitable substitutes for you we always substitute up. This means that if we don’t have exactly what you ordered we will replace it with a suitable item of the same or greater value. Of course, we wouldn’t expect you to pay more than you originally intended to so if we have to substitute an item we’ll pay the difference.
